Worked with a producer/engineer who had his Cubase punch in-out programmed to a MIDI foot pedal. If your recording yourself LPX makes this very very simple and super quick(As it should be). I for one would prefer to do all my tracking and mixing inside one DAW. Things like this should be standard operation in all DAW's. I hope MB has this feature or will implement it at some stage. Things like this is what makes LPX kill for someone like me that does everything themselves. Harrison have gone out of their way to make MB simple and intuitive from a mixing engineers perspective. I've not recorded anything in MB yet(Only have it a couple days) but it was something I noticed when looking at the metronome settings. It will be like travelling back in time to the stone age. And now that I'm so used to LPX's streamlined method MB will take some getting used to. I want to stay focused on the job at hand and not be switching hats in between takes. The less things I have to do between takes the better. It is the most important stage of the whole process after all. Every DAW should be this damn easy to use and help keep you in the zone. Then after I hit backspace once I hit enter 9 times and then R to start recording agin. If I'm tracking drums with say 9 tracks and I want to do another take. When the take is done, if your not happy with it or made a mistake during, you just hit 3 keyboard keys(Backspace/Enter/R) if its an audio track and 2(Backspace/R) if its midi. Hit record ( R) wait for count in and track. In LPX you arm the track/s to record, set a count in and a loop bar(not sure of the right name for it). It's excellent for when I have my tracking hat on and I dont want stuff like this to get in the way of creating music.
